Angelik Edmonds

Edmonds Law Office of Civil Rights

Attorney Angelik “Angie” Edmonds is the managing Partner of Edmonds Law Office of Civil Rights. Our team represents individuals in civil rights actions and landlord tenant matters. We handle cases on behalf of employees who have experienced employment discrimination including hostile work environment, wrongful termination, and retaliation cases. Employees are protected from discrimination pursuant to Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. We also represent students who have faced discriminatory treatment based on race and disability in schools. Our office also represents individuals who are incarcerated that have experienced cruel and unusual punishment. The Eleventh Circuit has found that the Georgia Department of Corrections, jails, and prisons violate an incarcerated individual’s Eighth Amendment right to be free from cruel and unusual punishment when prison officials deny individuals the right to medical treatment. These cases are often called “conditions of confinement” cases. We represent individuals in Fourth Amendment claims; a Fourth Amendment claim may exist when an officer uses excessive force while arresting an individual; when an officer detains an individual without probable cause; and in similar scenarios. Our office also represents individuals who may have malicious prosecution or false imprisonment claims.

Our office also specializes in complex landlord tenant matters. Our office has experience representing tenants in eviction proceedings, breach of contract arising from leases, housing discrimination pursuant to the Fair Housing Act, security deposit disputes, personal property damages arising from mold, mildew, and infestations; personal injuries arising from poor living conditions; asserting counterclaims against landlords; representing clients in landlord tenant appeals; representing tenants who have been illegally evicted; removing incorrect debts from client credit reports; representing homeowners against home owners associations for discriminatory fines and penalties; advising landlords about their statutory obligations and complex tenant issues; assisting tenants with complicated sub-tenant issues; and negotiating termination of leases without penalty.

Our office has obtained hundreds of thousands of dollars on behalf of our clients. Angelik prides herself on building meaningful, working relationships with her clients grounded in intersectional lawyering, no-nonsense counsel, alongside an empathetic touch.
